As a first step we need to see if this programme is right for you. We conduct an informal interview that allows us to get to know each other, set expectations and understand where you're at right now and most importantly where you want to get to.
If we don't think this programme is right for you, we'll give you pointers and advice based upon our first meeting.
This is primarily a group coaching programme, meaning that we will collectively propose and agree our agendas together. As we get to know each other and build our team, we intend to stretch and encourage you to develop your soft skills, such as approaching people in person, and undertaking the type of tasks that will stand you in good stead whatever line of work you are looking for. We also work on self development such as understanding your values and what you have to offer, as well as how others see you. In summary Stage 2 focusses on team work, self reliance, building resilience, accountability, and self knowledge.
We focus on connecting with people in industry. The Project gives you a reason to reach out to potential mentors - we are asking for whatever they are able to offer, from answering some questions, to becoming a mentor, or offering work experience. We will collectively agree how we go about this, and everyone will be involved to build as many in-person contacts as possible in your given sectors.
The Project gives you something of interest to bring to an interview or meeting, so whilst you may not have the exact work experience they are looking for, you will have an interesting story, you are participating in a mission, and you can demonstrate that you are willing to challenge yourself and do things differently.
Whilst the goal of the Project is to find work, having a side hustle, and knowing how to build a small business is an incredibly useful tool in this unpredictable working environment. We will work together to familiarise ourselves with understanding costs / budgets / targets etc and start exploring different outlets and platforms for sales. We will also look into AI and other means of generating income, pooling our findings and giving things a go. (NB whilst we have experience in setting up small businesses, we do not have experience in social media platform sales or AI - this is a collective learning exercise where we will try and sell a product on various platforms and in person, to hone and collate our findings.) This Phase of the Project is about learning from trial and error and being prepared to try. (Because at the end of the day you learn more from failing, than you do from not trying in the first place.)
